St. Daniel II, Archbishop of Serbia (XIV Century) is much more than a mediaeval chronicler — he is an accomplished artist: as writer of the Biographies of the Kings of Serbia and as Founder of several monastic churches.

The author underlines Daniel’s ability to intertwine the biblical theme of creation ex nihilo with a royal Life of Helen of Anjou, wife of Urosh I, King of Serbia.
