"One Who Is" — Jahwe — the Living God of Saint Gregory Palamas

pages: 95-119

St Gregory Palamas encompassed and re-interpreted the whole of the Ortho* dox Theology, beginning from St. John the Divine, St. Irinaeus of Lyons, Cappadocian Fathers, up to St. Maximus the Confessor, St. Symeon the New Theologian, and the others.

He stresses the personal character of the Divine Revelation in Christ, which offers the real existential experince of the Uncreated energies, perceived already by Moses on the Burning Bush.

Hesychasm (accepted on the Council of 1351. in Constantinople) has been not an "addition”, but a normal development of the Vl-th Ecumenical Council's Christology.
