The author deals with the age-long development of the institution of Marriage and Family from the pre-historic up to modern times. He makes a survey of classical writers, such as Fustel de Coulange, Emile Durkheim, W. E. H. Lecky, B. Kidd — to come finally to grips with our contemporary Marxist professors R. Lukich and M. Mladenovich, proponents of ^autonomous morals^.
The author explains the decay of marriage and dissolution of the social unit known as Family — with the decay of Christian morals, with weakining of Faith. The only means of strenghteming the sound Family life is to lift up men’s heart to the unageing light of Divine precepts revealed in the Gospel.
