From the wider discourse of the theme of portrait as an art form, in the context of tradition to show church generals, the focus is on a concrete artifact-picture: „The Bishop Sergius of Kirovgrad“ by Proto-singel Nikodimus (Nemanja Brkić) painted in 1945. It is now at the Museum of the Serbian Orthodox Church. The creation of this artwork can be connected to the ecclesiastical and political trends after World War II but also some basic attribution of Brkić’s creativity.
