pages: 35-54

Abstract

In this article, the author examines the writings of St Peter Mogila on the subject of good works and their place in the process of personal salvation. Keeping in mind the strong polemical context of the 17th century religious situation, the author focuses on the issues of the ratio of faith and good works, the definition of virtues and the notion of merit. Answers to these questions might show us the theological position of the metropolitan in relation to non-Orthodox influence.
